During this era of constant player movement in the NBA, with stars either becoming discontent with their situations and forcing a trade or teams anxiously wanting to keep with star-studded squads, players in the league rarely stay on the same team for their entire careers.

There have been a few exceptions over the years, like Kobe Bryant (Los Angeles Lakers), Tim Duncan (San Antonio Spurs), and Dirk Nowitzki (Dallas Mavericks), but those seem to be special circumstances for generational players who were iconic and near untouchable in terms of trades.

Another exception is actually a role player for the Miami Heat, with the recently retired forward Udonis Haslem playing for the franchise for his entire career in the league, which was remarkable, to say the least.

Although the last few years of his playing days in Miami were as a leader in the locker room, Haslem was pivotal to what the Heat were trying to accomplish and a beloved teammate.

However, the Heat almost traded Haslem at one point during his time in Miami, as the storied franchise had a shot at acquiring Allen Iverson, with Dwyane Wade breaking the news to the Heat staple, admitting such on The OGs Show via NBA Central.

D-Wade kept it real with Haslem and straight up told him “Man, it’s Allen Iverson”

Obviously, the Heat potentially pairing two of the best guards in NBA history together is something they’d try to do, even though, for whatever reason, the blockbuster trade never came to fruition, whether it was with the Philadelphia 76ers or another team Iverson played on during his Hall of Fame career.

It would’ve been interesting to see what Wade and Iverson could have accomplished in Miami, as they would have been one of the best backcourts in league history.
