Once the 2023-24 NBA season officially ended for the Golden State Warriors, with Stephen Curry and company failing to make the NBA playoffs, the storied franchise headed into the offseason with a lot of questions to be answered.

Along with needing to make a decision on what to do with struggling forward Andrew Wiggins, veteran guard Klay Thompson will become an unrestricted free agent later this month, with all signs pointing to the four-time NBA champion leaving the team in free agency.

Although there have been talks about a contract extension for Thompson, Curry’s longtime teammate has been unable to see eye-to-eye with the team’s front office on a deal, with a few teams expected to show significant interest in his services this summer.

It seems as though the Philadelphia 76ers and Orlando Magic could be in hot pursuit of Thompson with intriguing offers that might top what Golden State is offering, which intrigues former NBA player Udonis Haslem in terms of where he might land in the Eastern Conference via NBA on ESPN.

“I gotta see what’s going to happen with Klay Thompson,” Haslem said.

Even though Thompson is no longer the dominant two-way player of old, the veteran guard can still put up points consistently while being one of the best shooters in the league, making him an intriguing addition for any title contender with money to spend this offseason.

It’ll be interesting to see what Thompson does once free agency starts, but everything seems to be pointing to him having played his last game for the Warriors.
