There are a couple of young players on the Denver Broncos who are making plays happen.

Yes, first-round quarterback Bo Nix is going to get a lot of headlines because he is the signal-caller.

However, another talented player who is turning heads is 24-year-old safety Keidron Smith.

The former SEC star at both Kentucky and Ole Miss recently recorded his second interception of the preseason and nearly took it the distance.

Denver radio host Zach Bye also recently gave fans a better understanding of Smith’s football career before coming to Denver and getting off to a hot start this preseason.

“Keidron Smith played 60 college football games over the course of five years…47 career starts at Ole Miss, 13 at Kentucky…Had real success in arguably the best league in college football…He’s made the most of himself,” Bye said via social media.

The former undrafted defensive back is making a name for himself and has a real chance to make the final roster after the preseason finishes up.

Not only does he have multiple interceptions this preseason, but he has multiple pass deflections to go along with six tackles.

The organization made the decision to part ways with Pro Bowl safety Justin Simmons earlier this offseason, so they are looking for somebody to step up at that position.

With the way that Smith has been playing, he might be the one to take over there and make a real impact on the defense.
