Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant might be gone, but his legacy and impact will live on forever.

The legendary shooting guard will also be present in college basketball for years to come, all thanks to his widow, Vanessa.

Vanessa Bryant recently announced that the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation will partner with six different college basketball programs this season: LSU, Kentucky, Duke, Oregon, Connecticut, and USC (via NCAA March Madness).

Bryant and Nike where in months-long negotiations over a contract renewal, as the deal with the sports apparel giant had expired already.

Multiple reports stated that Kobe was looking forward to ending his partnership with Nike as he looked to get full creative control of his brand, and he was reportedly keen to start his own sneaker company.

Nike signed Kobe after he initially had a deal with Adidas, and his sneakers were always among the best-sellers.

Even though he didn’t play in college because he made it to the league straight out of Lower Merion High School, it’s never been unusual to see young hoopers donning Kobe’s.

He was one of the most inspirational athletes of his lifetime — and of all time, and we can still see young basketball players trying to replicate his game and incorporate his signature moves into their own bags.

Kobe Bryant is no longer with us, and he was taken from us way too soon, but at least, his presence will continue to be felt on basketball courts all over the world for generations to come.
