The New Orleans Pelicans have been quite cautious with Zion Williamson’s recovery, as they should.
Zion has been very injury-prone for the better part of his career, and there are serious concerns about his durability.
So, given how slowly he tends to get back to full strength and how much he’s dealt with ailments throughout the years, the Pelicans are doing the right thing by holding him out of the play-in tournament game.
However, Skip Bayless claims that his situation has infuriated both his teammates and front office members.
That’s why Pelicans veteran Larry Nance Jr. didn’t hesitate to take to Twitter to shut down that narrative once and for all, stating that all players actually stand by Zion and are with him through his recovery process.
No one in our locker room is looking at Z any type of way. We’re with him every step of his rehab, and support his process, physically AND mentally!

Zion recently claimed that, even though he could physically play right now, he doesn’t feel mentally there just yet.
He states that he doesn’t want to be a liability to his team, especially at this point in the season, so he’s only going to come back when he’s confident in his game again.
It’s a shame that Zion hasn’t been able to live up to his untapped potential because of so many injuries, as he’s been the most dominant player on the court when healthy.
Right now, it feels like the former first-overall pick will never be healthy to play a full season, but let’s just hope we’re wrong and he comes back better and ready to put those woes behind him for good.
