The NFL has come a long way over the years.
However, one thing has remained pretty much the same, and that’s the “Madden” video game series.
Year after year, fans complain and joke online about how they gave them the same game with slightly improved graphics and updated rosters.
However, Madden has also become more realistic and added plenty of input and real-life game situations.
That’s why, talking to former NFL star Chris Long, New Orleans Saints QB Derek Carr gave them some credit.
In his recent appearance on “Green Light with Chris Long,” Carr claimed that Madden does an outstanding job of showing coverages, and he’s even used the game to teach his nephews about coverage.
“I will say this, Madden does a good job of showing coverages. Like I know it sounds funny but… I would teach guys coverages off of Madden. I’ve taught my nephews coverages off of Madden.”

Madden features countless play designs and whatnot, and being an automated thing, it’s flawless when it comes to scheming.
Carr has had plenty of time to work on his Madden skills lately, as the Saints couldn’t get the job done and make the playoffs last season.
Fans are hoping that won’t be the case again in 2024, as Dennis Allen might enter the season on the hot seat, and there should also be some questions about Carr.
He was the Las Vegas Raiders’ scapegoat and didn’t get nearly enough credit for how he played for them since he entered the league, but he didn’t do much to help his case in his first season in the Big Easy.
Now, with a healthy and an improved roster, there will be no more room for excuses for Carr or the Saints.
