Victor Wembanyama was hyped to be arguably the best NBA Draft prospect since none other than LeBron James.

In fact, many believe that Wembanyama has the potential to even surpass the Los Angeles Lakers superstar.

While Wembanyama has more or less been playing at an elite level during the 2023-24 NBA season, his performances are not converting into many wins for the San Antonio Spurs.

Many believe a key reason behind the lack of success for the Spurs is the fact that the players on the roster are hesitant to pass the ball to Wembanyama during critical moments of the game.

The narrative has gained a lot of momentum over the past few weeks, and Victor Wembanyama recently addressed it via ClutchPoints on Twitter.

“There’s nobody on this team that doesn’t want to pass me the ball and there’s nobody I don’t want to pass the ball to,” Wembanyama said.

“Of course I’ve heard it, but it’s never been close to reality… There’s nobody on this team that doesn’t want to pass me the ball and there’s nobody I don’t want to pass the ball to.”

There have been many instances where fans have noticed the Spurs players choosing not to pass the ball to Victor Wembanyama during crucial moments of a game, but the French phenom has disregarded this notion.

In fact, Wembanyama claimed there is not even a single player who doesn’t want to pass him the ball.

Wembanyama mentioned that the opposite is also true, as he wouldn’t hesitate to pass the ball to any player on the roster of the San Antonio Spurs.

Upon hearing this statement from Wembanyama, many Spurs fans will breathe a huge sigh of relief.

Wembanyama has played 33 games for the Spurs this season and averaged 19.4 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game.

Despite the Spurs having the worst record in the Western Conference, Wembanyama is currently one of the favorites to win the 2024 NBA Rookie of the Year award.
