Everyone can agree that Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs has had an amazing rookie season.

His average during year one is 21.1 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 3.8 assists.

He also leads the league in 3.5 blocks per game.

But something that many people don’t realize is that Wembanyama has been attempting to increase his output from the three-point line this year.

In fact, StatMamba pointed out that he has the most step-back three-point attempts for a center this season, with 48, landing 47.9% of them.

Behind him is Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers, Karl-Anthony Towns of the Minnesota Timberwolves, and Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets.

Most Step Back 3PA by a Center this season:

16 — Joel Embiid (18.8% 3PT)
15 — Karl-Anthony Towns (26.7% 3PT)

He is attempting 5.4 threes per game and is landing 1.7 of them.

Clearly, his step-back three-pointer is a tool he is attempting to enhance before this season comes to an end.

If Wembanyama can become an even better three-point shooter in the years ahead, other teams will be in a lot of trouble.

He is already one of the best defensive players in the league and his offensive power has only increased since entering the NBA at the start of the season.

One of the things that people were so excited about when it comes to Wembanyama is his ability to have an impact from all over the court, both offensively and defensively.

They were also elated to see his progress and how far he could go.

He is a young man who already has a ton of promise and there is so much potential for him to grow even more.

A 7-foot-4 center who can defend, block, steal, and shoot three-pointers will be a sight to behold.
