After an amazing, historic rookie season in the NBA, San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama is now playing on behalf of his home country of France at the Olympics.

His time in Paris has gotten off to a great start and Wembanyama is leading the games in multiple ways.

Wembanyama scored 18 points and 11 rebounds in France’s 94-90 overtime win over Japan.

During the five-minute overtime period, Wembanyama put up 8 points, another stunning feat by the young star.

The French team has now won both of their games, which means they will probably proceed past group play.

Does this mean that Wembanyama could be a gold medalist in a matter of weeks?

That would be a massive testament to how much of a game-changer he is.

NBA fans have already seen what Wembanyama can do and his first season with the Spurs was shockingly good.

Even with the high expectations set for him, Wembanyama still blew everyone away.

He is going to try his hardest in the Olympics and then prepare for his second season in the NBA.

Everyone is eager to see what he can accomplish next season and they are excited to see how his game improves.

He is already a defensive monster but Wembanyama’s offense has been enhanced and that promises even brighter days ahead for the French star.

He was recently named Rookie of the Year but can Wembanyama also become an Olympic champion this summer?
