Victor Wembanyama has been an NBA sensation since he entered the league.

He had a lot of hype when he was drafted, and while the San Antonio Spurs haven’t been able to turn that hype into many wins, Wembanyama continues to shine.

He is currently the front-runner for the Rookie of the Year award, a sign of what he has accomplished in his first season.

Wembanyama is typically mild-mannered on the court, making it a bit surprising to hear that he was fined for some of his recent actions.

He was given a $25,000 fine for throwing a ball into the stands, which seems like atypical behavior for him.

However, after hearing his reasoning, most fans were assured that he did this for the right reasons.

Wembanyama took to a postgame press conference, which was shared by ClutchPoints, to discuss what happened.

“I know players have gotten fined for throwing the ball in the stands before, but they did it with bad intent. I was just doing it to make someone’s day,” Wembanyama said.

Taking an NBA basketball home is rare, but Wembanyama wanted to give a fan an experience and souvenir they will never forget.

While this might have been a thoughtful gesture on his part, at the end of the day, the rules are the rules.

Even if Wembanyama had the best intentions by giving a ball to someone in the crowd, the league had to abide by the letter of the law.

Will his conversation lead to a change in this rule in the near future?
