Victor Wembanyama came close, but not close enough, to winning his first gold medal at the recent Paris Olympics.

His team was eventually taken down by Team USA, which was disappointing for the young San Antonio Spurs star.

However, he got to enjoy some one-on-one time with Kevin Durant and recently revealed what the two spoke about.

According to Bleacher Report, Wembanyama said, “This is my personal childhood favorite [player]…I wanted to learn from him and perhaps only steal one or two of his secret techniques.”

It’s not clear which techniques Wembanyama was looking to steal from Durant but he has quite a few to choose from.

Being able to play against Durant on such a big stage must have been a real treat for Wembanyama.

He was able to shoot over and block the NBA icon he grew up watching and learning from.

If it weren’t for Durant, Wembanyama wouldn’t be the man he is today.

You can see glimpses of Durant’s game in Wembanyama’s and he is obviously attempting to model some of his playing style after Durant’s.

This was probably Durant’s last time at the Olympics, which makes this moment between him and the Spurs star even more special.

In just a few months, they will be back in the NBA, battling against each other.

Wembanyama’s second season could be even more explosive than his first and many fans are expecting huge things from the reigning Rookie of the Year.

If he keeps playing super well, he might be on his way to winning a trophy that Durant already has: MVP.
