Team France might be a tough out at the Paris Olympics this summer.

That is due in large part to the ability of young phenom Victor Wembanyama.

If you don’t believe those words, there is a block that the 20-year-old made in practice with his team that is going viral.

Plenty of fans are contesting the block, saying it was goaltending.

He’s a generational defender but that was so obviously on the way down

Regardless of what the fans are saying about this play, Wembanyama is a force in the middle.

The San Antonio Spurs center led the NBA in blocks this past season and was named Rookie of the Year.

He also was named to the All-Defensive First Team.

The Spurs have themselves a real superstar in the making and could be in good hands for years to come.

Also look for him to cause a lot of trouble on the court for opposing international teams in Paris this summer.

Elsewhere on the French team, there are other NBA players looking to help out Wembanyama.

Four-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year Rudy Gobert, longtime forward Nicolas Batum and veteran Evan Fournier are among those on the squad.

Team USA won gold at the 2020 Tokyo Games after beating France in the final.

With Wembanyama being the x-factor for France, could things possibly be different this time around?

One thing that is for sure is that if the two teams were to meet in the final game, it would grab headlines.
