The Chicago Bears were going through their longest losing streak in franchise history.
It had been almost one calendar year since their last win, and they had dropped 14 games in a row, including several heartbreakers.
That’s why it was no surprise to see the locker room so stoked and excited after finally getting over the hump and beating the Washington Commanders with an excellent overall performance (via NFL).

The Bears’ defense looked to honor late legend Dick Butkus, who passed away shortly before kickoff and were stout and physical throughout the entire game.
As for the offense, Justin Fields hit the ground running right away, hitting D.J. Moore in stride multiple times.
Fields scrambled and made plays with his feet and didn’t turn the ball over once in the effort.
This was just his seventh career win, and it came on the heels of a controversy-filled week.
WR Chase Claypool continues to be deactivated after his comments criticizing the coaches and how they were dealing with the offense.
Ironically, the passing game has fared quite better in the past two games without him.
Still, the Bears have plenty of adjustments and tweaks to make, and some believe they will get the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft, meaning they could choose to part ways with Justin Fields to land USC star Caleb Williams.
Whether that’s the case or not, they finally have a reason to be happy and celebrate, at least until next week.
