Rumors continue to swirl around the contract impasse between star wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk and the San Francisco 49ers.

Many believe the team, which reportedly offered a deal worth $26 million to the disgruntled Aiyuk, is entertaining overtures from league rivals for his services.

And now comes footage of a conversation that only added fuel to the trade rumor fire.

Ari Meirov posted a video purportedly of Aiyuk communicating with Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels on TikTok, claiming, “They said they don’t want me back…I swear.”

Aiyuk is a second-team All-Pro set to enter the last year of his NFL rookie contract, and the team may not have the choice to keep him in the fold.

San Francisco is stocked with highly-compensated veterans who they are locked in with in their current Super Bowl window.

Not to mention a young quarterback named Brock Purdy who has a stellar payday on the horizon.

And Aiyuk has not been shy about stirring speculation of possible trade destinations.

Earlier in the offseason, he posted a reference on social media to his “twin,” referring to newly-extended Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin.

This naturally led to speculation that Aiyuk was headed east.

Then there was an Instagram post that apparently slammed the team for not coming up with the money to keep him in San Francisco.

Someone in the league should be willing to make an attractive offer to the 49ers for a 26-year-old wide receiver who already has 269 receptions and 25 receiving touchdowns after only four years in the NFL.
