The Los Angeles Lakers recently made the controversial and potentially unwise move to select LeBron James’ son, Bronny James, in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft with the No. 55 overall pick.
As if the Lakers weren’t dealing with enough backlash for hiring first-time head coach JJ Redick to replace the recently fired Darvin Ham, the storied franchise brought in a player who might not be able to play at the professional level, as he’s clearly a project moving forward.
Bronny James has only played a few games on the team’s Summer League squad so far, from the California Classic in the Bay Area to now in Las Vegas, Nevada, for the next week or so at the Thomas & Mack Center.
During practice with the Summer League team, Bronny James was seen working on catch-and-shoot three-pointers and keeping the ball higher to be more efficient with his shot from beyond the arc via Jovan Buha of The Athletic.

Although Bronny James has made an impact on the defensive end of the basketball court for the Lakers, he has struggled offensively, especially when shooting the basketball, which he was criticized for before getting drafted.
Only time will tell whether Bronny James will be able to polish his game over the next couple of years in order to earn a spot in the rotation on the team’s top squad, playing alongside his father and superstar Anthony Davis.
As of right now, it isn’t looking good, but it is only the beginning of an extensive learning process moving forward.
