With the Western Conference becoming more and more competitive, the Golden State Warriors felt the need to do something to shake up their roster and give themselves the best chance of chasing another title.
That answer came in the form of trading away Jordan Poole in exchange for Chris Paul, an unprecedented blockbuster that had the NBA spinning.
For years, Paul has been an antagonist for Golden State given their playoff matches while he was with the Houston Rockets, but now he joins them in the Bay Area to help them win their fifth championship during the Stephen Curry era.
However, immediately after the trade was reported questions swirled about Paul’s fit on the team and whether or not he would even start.
Widely considered to be one of the best point guards ever, Paul has made a name for himself by handling the ball almost exclusively but that would change in the Warriors’ ecosystem.
With training camp officially underway, though, Paul began the process of fitting into the team’s scheme via Anthony Slater of The Athletic.
Very interesting Day 1 post-practice scene: Steph Curry, Chris Paul and Bruce Fraser discussing and then working on the Warriors’ hit-and-hand-back game. Steve Kerr said Paul is quickly trying to integrate into GSW style.

In the video, Paul is seen speaking to Bruce Fraser and Curry on what can be assumed to be the details of a specific action.
The two players then begin to drill the play repeatedly, a step in the right direction as Paul acclimates himself.
As is the case with any big addition, it’ll likely take Paul some time to fully get comfortable as a member of Golden State.
However, the veteran is one of the smartest players in the game and he’ll no doubt be able to figure it out.
