The first half of the 2023 NFL season was a rough one for the Las Vegas Raiders as they struggled to find cohesion on either side of the football field.
The Raiders were led by former head coach Josh McDaniels who seemed out of his depth as the team’s leader despite a successful career as the New England Patriots’ offensive coordinator.
McDaniels even got his preferred quarterback as Las Vegas released Derek Carr and signed Jimmy Garoppolo in free agency to be their new starter.
However, Garoppolo didn’t fare any better than Carr as he struggled with his accuracy and never seemed quite in sync with his receivers, especially Davante Adams.
There were numerous instances where Adams was open on the field, and yet didn’t get the football as Garoppolo looked elsewhere.
In Netflix’s new docuseries “Receiver” a clip was shown of Adams’ frustration with Garoppolo via Warren Sharp of SharpFootballAnalysis.com.

In the video, Adams talks about getting hit the most he ever has in his career which is an indictment on Garoppolo who put him in bad situations despite the star receiver’s ability to get open on the field.
However, things get even worst because later in the clip Adams is seen completely open downfield and Garoppolo whiffs on the pass.
Adams heads to the bench and is visibly angry with how the play unfolded, a rare sight given how much of a good teammate he’s become known to be.
Despite last year’s struggles, Adams seems to be in a better place with new head coach Antonio Pierce and he should have a bounce back year.
