The National Football League has finally done right by special teams players.
Special teams are one of the three key aspects of the game, yet their players rarely get the praise and recognition they deserve.
Fortunately, that’s not the case with Devin Hester anymore.
With him set to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, a clip of him getting a glimpse at his gold jacket went viral in a matter of seconds (via B/R Gridiron).

The Chicago Bears legend will be joined by Steve McMichael and Julius Peppers as the three members of the organization that will be enshrined in the Hall of Fame this year.
Notably, this was long overdue for a player like Hester.
He’s considered to be the greatest return specialist the game had ever seen, but he still had to wait an additional two years before getting the nod.
Throughout the course of his career, Hester made it to three All-Pros and four Pro-Bowls, and he was the most feared man on the other end of the field in the league.
He holds the record for both punt return touchdowns (14), most non-offensive touchdowns (20), and the highest yards-per-punt average in the history of the game.
It’s not usual to see special team players make it to the Hall of Fame, and hopefully, Hester’s induction will only help their case in next year’s selections.
