The Los Angeles Angels have won four straight and despite all the things written and said in recent weeks, they have a positive record and remain one of the teams fighting for a postseason spot in the American League.
They have Shohei Ohtani to credit for a lot of what they have achieved this year.
Everybody is pulling for Ohtani and the Angels to finally make it into the playoffs after ten seasons.
The Japanese star is making sure he is doing his part.
On Thursday, he went the distance and blanked the Detroit Tigers in the first game of a doubleheader.
Then, in the second game, he hit not one, but two home runs to propel the Angels to victory.
This is the video you didn’t know you needed in your life until right now: each of Ohtani’s 38 home runs this season.

Lots of players and even sluggers would call a 38-homer season a success, and for good reason.
Why wouldn’t they?
Ohtani has already reached that mark and it’s not even August.
As you can see, the guy has no weakness: he can homer against lefties and righties; against fastballs or breaking balls, at home, on the road, with his team trailing or when the Angels are leading, to tie a game or to flip a score.
Basically, he is a threat to hit the ball out of the park anytime, anywhere.
He is also slashing a rock-solid .298/.395/.675 with 79 runs and 80 RBI, all of it while also being the Angels’ ace on the mound.
