The Boston Celtics have been the best team in basketball this season, and it hasn’t even been close.
That’s why it wasn’t much of a surprise to see both Jrue Holiday and Jayson Tatum get the nod to make Team USA’s roster for the Olympics.
Notably, a clip of both of them getting their Team USA jerseys recently went viral, with Grant Hill knocking on their door just like when players get inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame (via NBACentral).

Truth be told, this was far from a surprising decision.
Holiday excelled for Team USA in 2020.
He was a starter in five of six games, averaging 11.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game, and showcasing his impressive perimeter defense.
As for Tatum, he’s also returning to the team after averaging 20.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game on almost 50% from the floor back in 2020.
The Celtics won an NBA-best 64 games during the regular season, so it only made sense that they had multiple players making the cut.
Other teams with two players on the roster include the Los Angeles Lakers (LeBron James and Anthony Davis) and the Phoenix Suns (Kevin Durant and Devin Booker).
They’ll join the likes of Kawhi Leonard, Stephen Curry, Tyrese Haliburton, Anthony Edwards, Bam Adebayo, and Joel Embiid rounding up the 12-player pool.
Team USA will look to reclaim its international supremacy after a disappointing performance in the past edition of the FIBA Basketball World Cup last year, and they’ll bring in the stars to Paris.
