The Los Angeles Lakers did everything they could to make life difficult for Russell Westbrook.
Westbrook never asked to be there; they traded for him because LeBron James and Anthony Davis wanted him there.
One didn’t have to be a basketball savant to realize that his fit next to two other ball-dominant non-shooters wasn’t good, yet Rob Pelinka traded for him anyway.
And even though Westbrook was the second-best player on the team in his first season, he was the team’s fall guy and scapegoat night in and night out.
Even so, it was shocking to see that LeBron James seemed to snub him during the game vs. the Los Angeles Clippers, dabbing every single Clipper but Westbrook (Via Lakers All Day Everyday).

This isn’t the first time that James has been tangled up in something like this.
He usually raves about his new teammates and then snubs them once they switch sides.
James was openly frustrated with the fact that the Lakers failed to swap Westbrook for Kyrie Irving, which is not the kind of thing you should say with Westbrook still on the team.
The Lakers flipped Russ’ contract for more depth, and both parties thrived without each other.
But at the end of the day, neither D’Angelo Russell nor Gabe Vincent or even Dennis Schroder are better players than Russell Westbrook, and a future Hall of Famer like that didn’t deserve that kind of treatment.
