It had been a while since we last heard of Baltimore Ravens star Lamar Jackson.
The superstar quarterback made the news for the most part at the beginning of the offseason, infamously disclosing every single detail and step of his contract negotiation with the team.
The Ravens seemed to be playing hardball before eventually signing him to the most lucrative contract extension in the history of the game, at least in terms of yearly pay.
So, now that he’s got more than enough cash to spare, the Louisville product decided to share some of his wealth with some local kids in Florida, treating them with ice cream during a hot summer day.

There was a lot of talk about Jackson in the offseason.
Some were certain he was going to be traded somewhere else, with the Miami Dolphins seeming like a logical destination because of all the doubts about Tua Tagovailoa and his obvious ties to his hometown.
Multiple teams reportedly shut the door on Jackson, raising and fueling league-wide criticism and with countless players stepping up on his behalf to defend him and question how on Earth no one seemed to be interested in him.
At the end of the day, it seemed like there was never a realistic chance he was going to leave the Ravens anyway, and it was all leverage and power moves to try and get the best deal possible done.
But now that he’s set to make that kind of money, there won’t be any more room for excuses or error; it’s time to get it done.
