LeBron James is objectively one of the greatest players in NBA history and one of the most successful and accomplished athletes to have ever lived.
Needless to say, that puts a lot of pressure on whoever’s coaching him, as not everybody has the pedigree to make him stay in line.
As a matter of fact, James has starred in countless feuds with his former coaches, with him constantly taking subtle shots at them or getting them fired.
James is a proven veteran and marches to the beat of his own drum, and he proved it again last night during the Los Angeles Lakers’ blowout win over the Portland Trail Blazers (via LakeShow Highlights).
He literally took an intentional foul and then called a timeout to sub himself out of the game, as his coach Darvin Ham wouldn’t do it.

The Lakers were well en route to a victory, as they were up by more than 20 points with just over six minutes left in the final period.
This isn’t the first time that James has decided to take matters into his own hands, and reports even state that he deliberately ignored Frank Vogel’s orders.
Needless to say, this is far from ideal, and coaches could feel slighted as the rest of the team watches them being ignored by the locker room leader.
Then again, James did the right thing by putting his health first and foremost, as he’s not getting any younger and there’s still plenty of basketball left in the sesason.
