The Dallas Mavericks managed to extend the 2024 NBA Finals for at least one more game after beating the Boston Celtics in Game 4 by a whopping 38 points.
The Mavericks won, 122-84, and will now head to the Celtics’ home for another do-or-die in Game 5.
Doncic responded to his poor finish to Game 3 by leading Dallas in scoring with 29 points while his co-star Kyrie Irving chipped in with 21 points.
More impressive, though, was Dallas’ team defense as they finally found ways to slow down a Boston offense that had been operating ruthlessly efficiently during the 2024 NBA playoffs.
Although it’s hard to imagine that the Mavericks can complete a reverse sweep against a talented Celtics team, it’s hard to count out Doncic and Irving who are capable of lighting up the scoreboard at any given time.
Both Doncic and Irving’s fathers were in attendance for Game 4 and the former was seen hugging his dad after the game, via the NBA on Twitter.

With Father’s Day coming up on Sunday, it was a heartwarming moment to see Doncic seek out his dad to celebrate his first career Finals win.
Doncic faced plenty of criticism for fouling out in Game 3 but vowed to be better in Game 4.
The Slovenian superstar did just that as he was calm and collected on the floor and hit shots to give his team momentum throughout the night.
Now, Doncic must try to attempt the same level of play in Game 5 as he and the team try to avoid elimination and bring the Finals back to Dallas for Game 6.
