The Seattle Seahawks already have a quarterback, but one can never have too much depth in that position.
That’s why HC Pete Carroll wanted to put Geno Smith on his toes, proving that he’s still got it and taking the field for some drills, as shown in a clip posted by the Seahawks (via Bleacher Report).

Chances are that he won’t be making the team any time soon.
All jokes aside, he looks quite good for a 71-year-old man, proving that he’s still relevant, contrary to what his detractors said of him when he traded Wilson away.
Carroll used to play free safety before he got into coaching, and while he has his fair share of doubters, it’s safe to say that he’s found plenty of success at both the collegiate and professional levels.
He even looked like a genius last season after the Wilson trade, especially considering how well Smith performed.
The Seahawks enter this season with even higher expectations.
Their roster got significantly better after the NFL Draft, and other than the San Francisco 49ers, they don’t have any legit threat in their division as of now.
Some fear that Smith could regress after that breakout year he had and getting paid in the offseason, but he’s drawn rave reviews because of his work ethic.
If not, maybe Carroll will want to put the pads on, take the field, and do his thing.
