As one of the elite quarterbacks in the NFL, Joe Burrow is worth his weight in gold to the Cincinnati Bengals, as he has been able to help turn things around for the once-struggling franchise ever since being drafted out of LSU with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Outside of an unfortunate season-ending knee injury in his rookie season with the Bengals, Burrow has been as advertised on the NFL level, as he has quickly moved up the ranks and is widely considered to be in the same class as some of the best at his position like Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Jalen Hurts, and Justin Herbert.
Unfortunately for Burrow, training camp has not gotten off to a great start, with the superstar quarterback going down with an apparent calf injury during practice on Thursday, with the following footage showing the moment he was injured, according to Caleb Noe of WCPO 9 via Ari Meirov.
Oh boy. This is the play Joe Burrow suffered his injury …. and it does not look good.

Non-contact injuries almost always have bad outcomes, and that could very well be the case for Burrow here once he gets checked out by the Bengals’ medical staff.
However, it doesn’t appear to be his knee that has been injured when looking at the footage, and reports say that it is more likely a calf injury, which is good unless it is a severe calf injury.
Earlier in the offseason, New York Jets newcomer Aaron Rodgers suffered a calf injury that limited what he could do on the football field, but he’s already back to work and preparing for the upcoming season with his new team.
Hopefully for Burrow, that turns out to be the same situation, as a long-term injury for him would be devastating to the team’s hopes of being a title contender in 2023.
