The NBA has its newest superstar in the form of French phenom Victor Wembanyama, who was selected by the San Antonio Spurs as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft last week.
With Wembanyama officially becoming an NBA player, the Spurs superstar has been doing the rounds in New York and San Antonio, with cameras documenting his every move.
The latest Wembanyama video, via the NBA’s Twitter account. captures the center talking with a very young NBA fan, who promises to be in the league one day and vows to dunk on him when he gets there.

Although this seems like a crazy thing to say from this kid who is likely no older than four or five, it would not be the first time a kid has met an NBA star at a young age and gone on to play against him or with him.
Most of the time, these situations happen because the kid’s father plays in the league, and they follow in their footsteps like Kobe Bryant, Stephen Curry, and quite possibly Bronny James in the near future.
Regardless of whether this kid’s dream pans out, this was a sweet moment candidly caught on camera, which rarely happens these days, with everything on social media feeling staged these days.
As for Wembanyama, the future is bright for the international import, as he has the chance to follow in Tim Duncan’s footsteps and instantly come in and help San Antonio get back to their winning ways while still having legendary head coach Gregg Popovich calling the shots on the sideline.
