Vikings Announce 3 Roster Moves

The past couple of weeks have been quite rough on Minnesota Vikings fans.

J.J. McCarthy’s injury was yet another big blow, and their decimated secondary defense was another big concern for Kevin O’Connell.

With that in mind, they reunited veteran CB Stephon Gilmore with defensive coordinator Brian Flores.

The news was known for days now, but it wasn’t until early Monday that the team made an official announcement.

That wasn’t the only move they announced, though.

Apparently, they waived punter Seth Vernon and wide receiver Ty James to make room for WR Justin Hall on the roster.

Hall went undrafted in 2022 and signed with the Las Vegas Raiders shortly after, but he hasn’t made a single appearance in a regular-season game thus far.

Needless to say, his chances of making the 53-man roster at this point in the offseason seem slim, to say the least, especially with all the talented playmakers Sam Darnold will have at his disposal this season.

As for Gilmore, he’s expected to have a big role right out of the gate.

The former Defensive Player of the Year could make up to $10 million and signed a one-year deal.

The Vikings will have to face an uphill battle to make the playoffs this season, but they have plenty of talent on their roster, so even if the NFC North will be very competitive, don’t be shocked if they’re better than most people expect.
