Professional football leagues in the United States, not including the NFL, have experienced varying levels of success.
The XFL, UFL, and USFL have all had their moment in the sun, but over the past 12 months, NFL teams have given several opportunities to players who performed well in the UFL.
Many teams have signed UFL players in the offseason, including the Minnesota Vikings, who recently picked up Jalen Redmond, formerly of the Arlington Renegades.

Redmond made a massive impact during his time with the Renegades, racking up 4.5 sacks during his first season with the team.
He was also a great player at the University of Oklahoma and performed well at the NFL’s combine.
Teams across the league were notably impressed with his speed at his size, but for whatever reason, he went undrafted.
Redmond had a short stint with the Carolina Panthers, but after a good year in the UFL, the Vikings are giving him a chance.
This could be a win-win situation for both sides of Redmond pans out.
The Vikings would get a defender for an inexpensive contract, and Redmond would get another opportunity at the NFL, where he can hopefully play for several years.
After an offseason where the Vikings have seen several marquee players leave the roster, it is likely a small victory for them to sign somebody on defense.
There are a lot of questions about the Vikings coming into this season on both sides of the ball, so it will be interesting to see how everything shakes out.
