The Minnesota Vikings have had quite the offseason.
They started by losing Kirk Cousins to the Atlanta Falcons in free agency, and there have been several unfortunate moments since that domino fell.
One of which was an injury to Jordan Addison, who is slated to be the team’s No. 2 receiver behind Justin Jefferson.
Even though Jefferson is a phenom and perhaps the best receiver in the league, the Vikings still need someone else to catch the ball every week.
Addison started to show what he could do last season, and he was looking great in training camp.
Addison, unfortunately, hurt his ankle recently, immediately putting his return timetable in jeopardy.
Mark Craig, a reporter for the Vikings, provided an update on Addison’s ankle, which indicated that he could return sooner than most people thought.
As Craig said, “It looks like [Jordan Addison] could be ready for Week 1.”
Per @markcraignfl via @AccessVikings, “it looks like [Jordan Addison] could be ready for week 1” and is his “guess” that’d he’d come back by then.

While Craig’s report is positive, Addison needs to do all he can in recovery and in physical training to make this happen.
The Vikings are already down a receiving option with T.J. Hockenson out due to injury, and there’s no telling when he’ll be back.
If this organization wants to get back to the playoffs, they’ll need healthy pass catchers to make it happen, especially since their quarterback situation has changed significantly.
It looks like Sam Darnold will be leading this team with J.J. McCarthy’s season-ending injury in mind, so it will be interesting to see how the offense looks.
