The Home Run Derby was certainly a treat, as always.
Last night was a fun night to watch some of the best sluggers in all of baseball compete for derby supremacy.
Ultimately, the dust was settled when Toronto Blue Jays slugger Vladimir Guerrero Jr. emerged victorious.
But Guerrero’s victory was poetic in a sense.
Back in 2007, Hall-of-Famer Vladimir Guerrero Sr. won the derby at Oracle Park in San Francisco.
Guerrero Jr. was in attendance to see that one.
16 years later, Guerrero emerged victorious, making him and Vlad Sr. the first father-son duo to win the Home Run Derby.
On Twitter, Jeff Passan of ESPN took note of this historic achievement.

Guerrero certainly made some important history 16 years in the making.
But it is poetic in a sense.
Vlad Sr. won the derby back in 2007.
Vlad Jr. was in attendance to see his father achieve this incredible feat.
But 16 years later, he got to experience the moment himself with his All-Star teammates watching him and supporting him.
He eliminated Mookie Betts in the first round before taking down Julio Rodriguez in the semifinal round, much to the dismay of Seattle Mariners fans.
Guerrero proceeded to hit 25 home runs in the final round, with Randy Arozarena coming close thanks to a late surge.
The Tampa Bay Rays slugger hit 23, which was not enough to knock off the Blue Jays first baseman.
The dust was settled, and Guerrero ultimately got the chance to celebrate his impressive victory, joining his father in elite company.
