After missing the NBA playoffs entirely, it has become bluntly clear that drastic changes are needed for the Golden State Warriors to get back on track as a force to be reckoned with in the Western Conference.
With the West being stacked at this point in time, with the Denver Nuggets, Minnesota Timberwolves, Dallas Mavericks, and Oklahoma City Thunder leading the way with young squads, the Warriors are scrambling to figure out how to put more talent around superstar Stephen Curry to get the most out of what could be the last couple of years of his prime.
Along with trying to put a championship squad together, veteran sharpshooter Klay Thompson may have played his last game for the Warriors, as all signs point to him leaving the team in NBA free agency, with the Orlando Magic being his most likely destination.
Although Thompson is no longer the dominant two-way player of old, he will still be missed in San Francisco and needs to be replaced with a comparable player or someone better at this stage of their career.
Apparently, that player could be Paul George of the Los Angeles Clippers, as his contract talks with his team aren’t going well, leading to speculation that he could leave this summer, with the Warriors being a potential destination.
According to Brian Windhorst of ESPN, the Warriors appear to be ready to give him a max deal via Bleacher Report.

At this point in time, there’s no telling what could happen with the Warriors and Clippers, as the situation seems to be pretty complicated with a few different scenarios that could unfold.
If George does decide to join Curry and company in the Bay Area, the Warriors could instantly become a legitimate title contender once again in the West, while the Clippers would take a massive hit to their chances of competing moving forward.
