Heading into the 2023-24 NBA regular season, the Golden State Warriors decided to shake things up a bit by parting ways with guard Jordan Poole in a blockbuster trade with the Washington Wizards, resulting in veteran point guard Chris Paul being sent to the Bay Area in return.

Initially, the move looked like it could be a potential game-changer for the Warriors, as they would move off of Poole and his massive contract and bring in one of the best point guards in league history to help shoulder the load for superstar Stephen Curry in the backcourt.

Unfortunately for Golden State, the season turned out to be somewhat of a disaster, with injuries taking a toll on the storied franchise, as well as certain players failing to live up to expectations, like forward Andrew Wiggins.

Although Wiggins was pivotal to the team winning its fourth NBA championship during this dynasty era in the Bay Area, the last two years have been forgettable, to say the least, as he has dropped off considerably in terms of on-court production and reliability.

Because Wiggins is no longer the same kind of impact player he once was for the Warriors, the team is ready to move him in a trade if they can find a suitor for the remaining three years of his contract worth $84.7 million, according to Evan Sidery of Forbes.

The Warriors are expected to actively shop Andrew Wiggins in trade talks this offseason.

With Wiggins having a hefty contract with three more years left on his deal, it might be difficult for the Warriors to find a team to take him on, especially if there are doubts he can return to form as a valuable role player.

Only time will tell what Wiggins’s immediate future holds, but it might be safe to say he’s played his last game for Golden State.
