The Golden State Warriors have some big moves to make in the offseason.
Stephen Curry is still one of the best players in the game, but this is a team sport, and no one can win on their own, not even the best point guard in the league.
That’s why money management will be so important in the Bay area and why some think this might be the end of the road for Klay Thompson.
However, GM Mike Dunleavy Jr. recently confirmed that the team still wants Thompson to re-sign with them.
When asked about Thompson’s situation, he claimed that he would love to keep him around, but also added that they would keep all the details about the negotiation in-house and, hopefully, they’ll have some news soon (via Warriors on NBC Sports).

Notably, most signs point to the end of Thompson’s tenure with the Warriors.
He’s talked about embracing a lesser role and even taking a pay cut if that’s what it takes to be a Dub for life, but it would be very difficult for the Warriors to find a deal that makes sense for both parties.
On top of that, Thompson will reportedly have multiple suitors in free agency, some of which could actually be willing to pay him more than his current team.
The Splash Brothers dominated the league almost at will for the better part of a decade, but all great things eventually come to an end, and that legendary duo won’t be the exception to the rule.
