The Golden State Warriors’ dynasty is hanging by a thread, and despite a recent surge, there is a very real chance they will miss the playoffs.

They haven’t missed the playoffs with a mostly healthy roster since 2012, and there have been plenty of rumors lately that they want to make a big move.

That big move didn’t come prior to the trade deadline, but Shams Charania reported that their “dream” target this summer is Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, per ClutchPoints.

This past summer, there was speculation that Antetokounmpo could leave the Bucks soon after back-to-back defeats early in the playoffs, but they then went out and traded for future Hall of Fame guard Damian Lillard.

Antetokounmpo then signed an extension that can keep him with them through the 2027-28 season, and it looked like his standing with Milwaukee was secure.

But Milwaukee has underachieved all season, and they currently sit in third place in the Eastern Conference despite sporting arguably the best roster on paper in the conference.

Antetokounmpo, 29, is in his prime, and he’s putting up 30.8 points, 11.2 rebounds, and 6.4 assists a game while shooting 61.6 percent from the field this season.

It’s very hard to imagine him leaving the Bucks soon, let alone landing in Golden State, but if that came to pass, it could jumpstart Golden State’s dying dynasty.

If a trade were to ever be consummated between the two teams, the big question is what would Golden State have to give up to get Antetokounmpo?

There’s no doubt the Bucks would demand a lot, including multiple first-round draft picks and a couple of young studs.
