The Golden State Warriors are heading into the 2023-24 NBA season on Tuesday with hopes of being able to get back on track as a title-contending team in the Western Conference, even though the competition has gotten that much better over the summer.

During the NBA offseason, the Warriors chose to shake things up a little bit, as they made a statement by parting ways with guard Jordan Poole in favor of bringing in future Hall of Famer Chris Paul.

Along with adding another future Hall of Famer to the backcourt, the team signed veteran forward Draymond Green to a long-term deal, which secures his future with the team moving forward.

One move that has flown under the radar ahead of the 2023-24 campaign is drafting rookie guard Brandin Podziemski with the No. 19 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.

Apparently, superstar Steph Curry has already embraced Podziemski and has taken on the mentor role for the rookie, as Podziemski claims via 95.7 The Game.

Brandin Podziemski on Curry’s mentorship: “He includes me in everything that he can. Taking me under his wing and teaching me all the little things. I’m trying to be a similar player. He’s not the best athlete, but he’s unbelievably skilled.”

With the Warriors already having a lot of talented guards like Curry, Paul, Thompson, Gary Payton II, and Moses Moody, it might be tough for the rookie to crack the rotation, but anything is possible in San Francisco, especially if the best shooter in league history has taken him under his wing.

It will be an interesting season, to say the least, for the Warriors, with no telling what may happen in the Bay Area.

Golden State is still considered to be a force to be reckoned with, but the West is extremely tough, meaning this team won’t have much room for error this season.
