For a college basketball program as storied and deep as The University of Kentucky, it’s almost impossible to narrow things down to an all-time starting five.
Former Wildcat and current Tennessee Titans starting quarterback Will Levis recently gave his all-time starting five, and it’s clear he knows ball.
NFL on CBS shared a clip of Levis giving his all-time Kentucky starting five, and he chose John Wall, Devin Booker, Tayshaun Prince, Julius Randle, and Anthony Davis.

It’s a very strong list, as all five of these players have gone on to have outstanding NBA careers.
Davis is a no-brainer pick after leading Kentucky to a National Championship as a freshman before being the No. 1 overall pick, while Randle nearly did the same in his one year at Kentucky after leading his No. 8 seed Wildcats to the title game before losing to UConn.
Wall was a superstar before he even stepped foot on campus and was the most electrifying player in the country before also being made the No. 1 pick, while Prince played four years at Lexington and went on to be a first-round pick and an NBA champion.
The oversight from Levis here is that Booker is a bit of an egregious pick, as even though he has grown into an undeniable superstar at the NBA level, he averaged 10.0 points per game in his one season at Kentucky and didn’t start a single game.
His team nearly went undefeated at 38-1, but it was a balanced attack with nobody on the team scoring more than 11 points per game.
The right pick would have been Jamal Mashburn, who played three years at Kentucky, won an SEC Player of the Year, made the All-SEC team in each of his three seasons, and led Kentucky to a Final Four en route to making the All-Tourney team in 1993.
