Yankees Fan Points Out A Philosophical Flaw

The New York Yankees have become a shell of their former selves this year, as they now just sit one game over the .500 mark and in last place in the American League East.

This is quite unfamiliar territory for the Yankees, who won 99 games and captured an AL East title last season.

Since then, things have not been the same for the Yankees, who are at risk of missing the postseason for the first time since 2016.

On Twitter, a Yankees fan pointed out a serious potential flaw within the organization, noting that former manager Joe Girardi was let go after an ALCS appearance while Aaron Boone is still in tow despite the current situation.

Joe Girardi was fired after taking the “rebuild year” team to game 7 of the ALCS vs a cheating astros team.

Aaron Boone’s Yankees are currently 100-100 over their last 200 games and sit 5 games out of a playoff spot…

Girardi helped guide the Yankees to their 27th World Series title in 2009.

He also took the Yankees to the postseason six times during his 10-year tenure at the helm of the team.

The fan notes that in 2017, the club completely defied the odds and weren’t expected to be a postseason team after selling at the 2016 trade deadline.

However, the Yankees won a Wild Card spot and took the eventual World Series champion Houston Astros to a Game 7 in the ALCS.

Boone has taken the Yankees to the ALCS twice during his tenure as Yankees manager and has also yet to miss the postseason.

However, the Yankees are once again in unfamiliar territory as they sit 5.5 games behind the Toronto Blue Jays for the third and final Wild Card spot.

The fan questioned if maybe it’s time for a change in the Bronx.
