The New York Yankees have taken over the MLB news cycle this past week.
That is how the Yankees organization always wants it.
Last season, the Yankees’ lack of success was surprising.
They finished with a record of 82-80 and missed the postseason.
The Yankees have a rich history of success and they want to get back to that.
One thing George Steinbrenner always believed is that the best players in the world should play for the Yankees.
According to Bob Nightengale, Yankees GM Brian Cashman said the acquisition of Juan Soto was a manifestation of the Steinbrenner legacy.
Yankees GM Brian Cashman, who says the ‘future is always now,’ calls the Juan Soto trade a manifestation of the Steinbrenner legacy:
‘George Steinbrenner always thought the best players in the world should play in New York for the New York Yankees’’

No team in baseball has a legacy like the Yankees.
They have won 27 World Championships and are an organization full of history.
Soto is one of the best players in the sport and should fit in perfectly with the Yankees.
He is a left-handed hitter with elite plate-discipline.
The short porch in right field should have Soto in line for a career season.
Some flyballs that might have been outs in San Diego will go over the fence in New York.
What will be interesting to see is what the Yankees do with Soto’s contract.
He is set to become an unrestricted free agent after the 2024 season.
You can bet he will want a record-breaking contract.
The Yankees would not have traded for Soto to only have him for one year.
You can bet they will do their best to keep Soto in pinstripes for a long time.
