Stolen bases are always fun to see.

However, it’s rare that somebody steals home.

It’s a daring task to do so, but if Benny “The Jet” Rodriguez could pull it off in “The Sandlot,” so too can an actual Major Leaguer.

On Wednesday, New York Yankees infielder Isiah Kiner-Falefa managed to pull it off against the New York Mets.

The Yankees led the Mets by the score of 2-1 in the top of the seventh inning when left-hander Brooks Raley threw a 2-1 sinker to outfielder Billy McKinney.

Kiner-Falefa got a good jump and managed to swipe home and make it a 3-1 Yankees lead.

According to Sarah Langs of MLB.com, Kiner-Falefa is the first Yankee to steal home since Didi Gregorius did it back in August of 2016.

Kiner-Falefa got an impressive jump and was able to catch the Mets by surprise in the seventh inning, giving the Yankees a much-needed insurance run.

The Yankees fans in attendance at Citi Field cheered as Kiner-Falefa crossed the plate and increased the team’s lead.

A steal of home is rare.

It’s so rare in fact that Kiner-Falefa’s steal of home was the first by a member of the Yankees since all the way back in 2016, when Gregorius accomplished the feat.

It couldn’t save the Yankees from what transpired later, as the Mets rallied for a walk-off win.

However, the Yankees utilityman ultimately stole the show for a little bit at Citi Field on Wednesday and gave the Yankee fans in attendance a reason to cheer, while Mets fans were left stunned.
