The New York Yankees have been one of the most disappointing teams in MLB this season.
They entered the year as one of the favorites to win the American League.
With less than a month to go in the season, the Yankees will be lucky to make the playoffs.
They are 6.5 games out of the final AL Wild Card spot.
New York has won eight of their last 10 games, and a few interesting roster moves have paid off.
The Yankees called up top prospects Jasson Dominguez and Austin Wells at the beginning of September.
Those moves have seemingly rejuvenated the team.
But, many fans are wondering if Dominguez would be available for the Yankees’ hypothetical playoff roster.
According to Bryan Hoch, Dominguez would not automatically be on the postseason roster.
But, he can be added as an injury replacement.
This question has been asked a lot – would Jasson Dominguez be eligible for a #Yankees playoff roster?
Answer: Not automatically, since he wasn’t on the 40-man roster on Aug. 31. However, he could be added as an injury replacement, since he was in the organization on that day.

Dominguez has been great since getting called up.
He has played five games for the Yankees and has already hit three home runs.
Yankees manager Aaron Boone already trusts Dominguez batting third in their lineup.
Even at 20 years old, Dominguez has shown the bright lights of New York are not too big for him.
More likely than not, the Yankees will not be a playoff team.
So the whole postseason roster issue will be a moot point.
The Yankees will have to jump three teams to get into the postseason.
Even with the impact Dominguez has had, the Yankees are running out of time to reach the postseason.
