The Los Angeles Angels have found themselves in a much better position this season than they did at this point last year.
In 2022, they started hot but ultimately folded by June and fell out of contention.
This year is different, however, as they are only five games back of first place in the AL West and just a half-game behind the Toronto Blue Jays for the third AL Wild Card spot.
They picked up their 43rd win of the season last night against the Chicago White Sox.
Leading the way was left-hander Reid Detmers, who had an impressive outing against the slumping South Siders.
On Twitter, MLB posted a graphic featuring his line.

Detmers was nothing short of dominant on Monday night.
He allowed a run in the first inning on a Luis Robert Jr. home run, but settled in after Robert’s blast.
That home run was just one of only two hits he allowed over seven innings of work against the White Sox.
He also only walked two batters and ultimately ended up striking out 10 batters.
MLB also had a clever pun in the caption for the tweet, telling fans to wait until they “Reid” the left-hander’s line.
Unfortunately, Detmers did not factor into the decision.
Shohei Ohtani tied the game in the fourth with a home run and took the young lefty off the hook, but Detmers did not receive a win for his efforts.
The Angels ultimately did win the game, however, walking off the White Sox on a wild pitch.
