The Houston Rockets got one of the biggest acquisitions of the offseason when they landed Fred VanVleet.

Known for years as the man at the center of the Toronto Raptors, VanVleet averaged 19.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 7.2 assists in 2022-23.

Now he is bringing his talents down to Texas and fans are excited.

So are the team’s players.

According to ClutchFans, Jalen Green is ecstatic to play alongside VanVleet.

He said, “That’s super dope for the team, not just for me but for the whole team, to have a veteran point guard, a winning point guard, that we can learn from and set the tone for us.”

Green is no slouch and led the Rockets in points last season with an average of 22.1.

But he’s also just 21 years old and that was only his second season in the league.

The Rockets are a team with a lot of potential and a lot of youth – perhaps too much of the latter.

For a few seasons now, analysts have said that the Rockets could be a lot better in several years when they have aged, matured, and earned more experience.

VanVleet brings age, maturity, and experience.

That experience includes winning the Finals with the Raptors back in 2019.

He’s not the only one with much-needed experience.

The team’s new head coach, Ime Udoka, has been working in the league for years and also found great success during his short time as a head coach for the Boston Celtics.

These two will try to impart their wisdom to the young Rockets core and help them secure a much better record.

VanVleet will certainly assist the team with their offense but he will do more than just create points for the Rockets.
