Brandin Podziemski had the honor to play alongside a few of his heroes in his rookie season.
Steph Curry, Chris Paul, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson were all there for him as he made an impression on the Golden State Warriors.
Of course, Thompson has now left the team to play for the Dallas Mavericks but his influence will always be felt by Podziemski.
Speaking to NBC Sports, the young star spoke about the friendship he has with Thompson and some recent words he shared with him.
Podziemski said that Thompson gave him advice both on and off the court and they spoke just a few days ago.
In their heartwarming talk, Thompson told Podziemski that he would “always have a brother in him for life.”
“Getting a call from him a couple days ago, and him telling me I’ll always have a brother in him for life.”

The 21-year-old guard said that Thompson taught him some things that players can’t learn simply by looking at YouTube videos or using Google.
He didn’t reveal the specific advice that Thompson gave him but it obviously had a big impact on him.
Podziemski had a great rookie year, averaging 9.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game on 45.4% from the floor.
He was a very pleasant surprise for the Warriors and even took Thompson’s starting position multiple times throughout the season.
Because of that, he may be part of the reason why Thompson decided to move to Dallas.
But even though Thompson is gone, Podziesmki will still think about the advice he gave and it’ll guide him forward in the years ahead.
Podziemski said that he will always care for Thompson but he is also excited to compete against him in the season ahead.
