The 2024 Olympics have just ended but many people are already getting excited for the 2028 games, which will be held in Los Angeles.

There is great speculation about who will play on Team USA’s men’s basketball team, especially considering several stars from 2024 will no longer be there.

One Golden State Warriors star is throwing his name into the mix.

Legion Hoops recently released a list of 2028 Team USA candidates.

Brandin Podziemski of the Warriors, who didn’t make the cut, wasn’t completely satisfied with the list and tweeted an emoji of a shrugging man and a pencil writing on a piece of paper, suggesting that he’d like to be added to the list.

The list from Legion Hoops featured stars such as Ja Morant, Jalen Brunson, Anthony Edwards, Donovan Mitchell, Jayson Tatum, Paolo Banchero, and more.

But Podziemski wasn’t on there.

He believes he is valuable enough to represent his country and he definitely had a rookie season that impressed many so the idea of him in the Olympics isn’t far-fetched.

He averaged 9.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 3.7 assists for the Warriors in 2023-24 and surprised the fanbase by becoming an important part of Steve Kerr’s plans.

Podziemski played so well, in fact, that he occasionally took the place of Klay Thompson in the starting five.

Now that Thompson has left the team, Podziemski might get more time to shine in 2024-25 and beyond.

He has several years to keep improving his game and gaining more attention.

If he plays really well, he might be in contention for the 2028 team.

Right now, he feels like a bit of a long shot but a lot can change between now and 2028.
