The Cincinnati Bengals have a lot of work to do ahead of the 2024 NFL season.
After being one of the best teams in the AFC in 2021 and 2022, the Bengals had a major setback last year.
Joe Burrow was hurt for most of the year, causing the team to struggle for most of the year, missing the playoffs as a result.
They are also without Joe Mixon heading into 2024, a player who has made a monumental impact on their rushing attack over the past several seasons.
Now that Mixon is gone, the Bengals will have to get creative with their running backs.
Chase Brown had a few flashes last season, but he isn’t expected to be the lead back.
The Bengals signed Zack Moss with the hope that he can be an adequate replacement for Mixon, a role that he seems more than ready to tackle.
As Moss said in a quote from Around The NFL, he is ready to fill “big shoes” in the backfield.

Mixon was a dynamic player during his time with the Bengals, and replacing that level of production will not be easy.
It will be interesting to see what Moss can do in this backfield, especially since his best rushing output was in 2023, where he had 794 yards.
Mixon had several 1,000-yard seasons, and if Moss isn’t able to get close to that total this year, the Bengals could struggle in all aspects of their offense.
Of course, Burrow’s health will also determine a lot for this team’s potential success.
