The New Orleans Pelicans went through a rough patch recently but they have been looking better since then.
The Pelicans have won three out of the last four games against the Dallas Mavericks, Denver Nuggets, and Sacramento Kings.
There was a moment when fans were worried about the team’s chemistry.
However, Zion Williamson said they are definitely working together.
Speaking to the press after Monday’s win over the Kings, Williamson said, “We weren’t on the same page before, but now we’re all on the same page.”
According to a video shared by HoopsHype, Williamson continued: “We had a team meeting, we talked about what we want to do as a unit and that’s what we’re going to live and die with.”

Williamson said the team meeting revolved around following certain defensive schemes and getting stops.
He said they are also very focused on “pushing in transition” because not only is that a way to control the game but, according to Williamson, it’s “fun.”
It certainly looks like some sort of switch has been flipped and the team is having more fun now.
The Western Conference is very crowded and some people have written the Pelicans off but their recent success has caused many to take another look at the team.
They now have a 7-7 record and are sitting as the ninth team in their conference.
If they continue to play as they have during the last several games, they will surely climb higher than that.
Will the Pelicans ever reach the first seed like they did briefly last season?
That’s a tall order, especially with teams like the Minnesota Timberwolves, Denver Nuggets, and Oklahoma City Thunder doing so well.
But it sounds like the team is finally functioning as a true unit and ready to storm through the West.
