The Los Angeles Lakers have a legitimate chance to win the NBA championship this season.
They’re up 1-0 over the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference semifinals, seizing control of home-court advantage in the series.
So, even though the Lakers still have a difficult path in front of them, the team is playing at a championship-caliber level.
That’s why Russell Westbrook recently told Patrick Beverley, who both played for the Lakers earlier this season, that he expects the franchise to give him a ring if they win the title.
Beverley replied by saying that he expects the same thing.
Notably, CJ McCollum and Jay Williams shared their thoughts on the situation on Get Up, and neither seemed so sure about whether the team should give them a ring.

Truth be told, it would be tough to envision the Lakers giving Beverley a ring after he played poorly, requested a trade, and then talked trash about the organization.
He didn’t put up the numbers, and Beverley wasn’t there long enough to be deserving of a ring.
That especially holds true considering the Lakers played better after Beverley left.
As for Westbrook, it’s no secret that the Lakers didn’t view him as a good fit with the team.
They shopped him for months while trying to find a replacement.
Westbrook’s tenure with the Lakers didn’t exactly end on the best terms, both with his teammates and coach.
Westbrook was there for longer and one could argue that he put up solid numbers despite the seemingly poor fit.
However, it just doesn’t feel right that the organization would give either of these guys a ring.
After all, it doesn’t seem like the Lakers ever cared about Westbrook or Beverley to begin with.
