When a team travels to Fenway Park to play the Boston Red Sox, the trip is always filled with a lot of excitement, much of which centers around having the opportunity to play at one of Major League Baseball’s finest and most historic ballparks.
The Pittsburgh Pirates got that chance on Monday as they began a three-game series against the Red Sox.
One of the most exciting aspects of Fenway Park is the famous “Green Monster” out in left field.
That left field wall is historic for a number of reasons.
On Monday, the Pirates got a chance to go inside the Monster and actually sign their names on the wall.

There really is nothing like having the opportunity to experience a stadium such as Fenway Park.
For teams in the National League, it’s a rare opportunity.
Fortunately, it will become more commonplace now that the regular season schedule is more balanced and every team plays each other at least once.
And for the Pirates, this was an opportunity they could not let pass up.
The Green Monster certainly has plenty of signatures on the inside, but the Pirates took the opportunity to add their signatures to the collection as well.
The day got even better for the Pirates as they took the series opener against the Red Sox by a final of 7-6 and now have a chance to secure a series win on Tuesday.
But signing the Green Monster is an opportunity that no team should let pass, and the Pirates certainly made the most of it.
