The Los Angeles Lakers are by no means a superteam, although they do have two of the best players in the game.
However, it’s pretty fair to say that LeBron James has had his fair share of superstar teammates, which has always been a talking point around his legacy.
For years, his haters have criticized him and stated that he’s responsible for the “Superteam” era, and there might be some truth to that.
However, Colin Cowherd recently claimed that that notion is rather laughable, as the superteams were actually created to try and stop LeBron James.

Notably, the Boston Celtics had a superteam before James took his talents to the Miami Heat.
James did lead a subpar Cleveland Cavaliers team to the NBA Finals before teaming up with Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade.
Also, to say that a championship is more or less valid because of who you played with is actually laughable.
Bill Russell would’ve never won 11 rings without John Havlicek, Tom Heinsohn, and Sam Jones.
Michael Jordan would’ve never won six championships without Scottie Pippen.
Larry Bird had Kevin McHale and Robert Parish; Magic Johnson had Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who also had Oscar Robertson in Milwaukee, and the list could go on forever.
Also, there’s a big difference between just playing with stars and actually being the best player on those teams, and LeBron has always been the best player on his team.
It’s hard to win in the NBA, so let’s not try and tear down those who actually do it.
